The Friends of the James Weldon Johnson Community Library and the city of St. Petersburg Library System present the 9th Annual James Weldon Johnson Library Literacy Festival!
Literacy is important and the Friends of the James Weldon Johnson Community Library recognizes that. So, we’ve partnered with the St Petersburg Library System and the City of St. Petersburg to make a positive impact on our neighborhood by encouraging LITERACY and READING among all ages.
This event features our annual neighborhood Walk For Reading parade where the children who attend the festival will walk through the local community shouting “READERS ARE LEADERS” and “WALK FOR READING” (the Walk For Reading will be escorted by St. Petersburg Police Dept.)
When you arrive, stop by at the registration table and pick up your wristband so we know you’re here.
Come support your local vendors!
So, stop by and enjoy FREE moonwalks, puppet show, mimes, music, poetry, Elmo, face painting, and children’s books and more.
Food will be available for purchase at the event. (Proceeds from the sale of food will benefit the library.)
Friends of Johnson Branch Library, Inc. is committed to providing access, and reasonable accommodation in its services, programs, and activities for individuals with disabilities. Individuals requiring disability related accommodations during this event please contact Kevin Johnson at 727.342.2235.
